Antique Portuguese Box Stirrup - $50 (Port Townsend)

Late 19th century traditional Portuguese estribo.
Made of brass/bronze and hand carved leather.
The stitches holding the leather pieces together can be seen inside the box.
One reference referred to this style as a bull fighting stirrup.
Possibly for side-saddle.
The footprint is 4 x 8".
In very good condition.
