*Job Summary* The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining our organization’s information technology infrastructure.
This role involves configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing systems to ensure smooth operations.
The Systems Administrator collaborates with other IT professionals to support users, enhance security, and improve overall efficiency.
*Responsibilities* · *System Maintenance and Monitoring:* o Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and network devices.
o Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues/outages, and ensure high availability.
o Perform problem-solving tasks when alerted by a user or monitoring system o Implement security patches, updates, and backups.
· *User Support:* o Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related problems.
o Assist with user account management, password resets, and access permissions.
o Support Tier I helpdesk on an as needed basis · *Network Administration:* o Manage local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
o Set up and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs.
o Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
· *Security and Compliance:* o Implement security policies, access controls, and encryption.
o Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
o Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
· *Backup and Disaster Recovery:* o Design, implement, and test backup strategies.
o Develop disaster recovery plans and perform regular testing.
· *Documentation:* o Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
o Create user manuals and guidelines.
· *Collaboration:* o Work closely with other IT teams, including developers, database administrators, and helpdesk staff.
o Participate in project planning and execution.
*Qualifications* · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· Proven experience as an IT Systems Administrator.
· Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, or both).
· Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
· Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Cisco CCNA are a plus.
· Not required but the following would be a plus: * Experience with ERP systems (Infor) * Exchange On Premise migration to Microsoft 365 * Familiarity with PLC’s * Experience with EDI concepts, workflow, and data transformations * Familiarity with EDR, XDR, & MFA *Soft Skills* · *Communication:* Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
· *Adaptability:* Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments.
· *Time Management:* Prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
