We are looking for a forever home for Freya.
She’s 10 months old.
We took her in as she was neglected and the owner was getting ready to send her to an animal shelter.
We are working on getting her back up to health.
When we got her, she was missing hair from stress chewing, had bald spots from laying down so much due to being in a room all the time, and she had two ear infections, and scabs from scratching.
We took her to our vet and got her medicine for her ears and she is eating a healthy diet now.
We have only had her for a week but her hair is starting to grow back and she is more relaxed.
She is a little apprehensive at first, but warms up pretty quickly.
She would snap at our other dog for the first night, but that behavior quickly went away.
They both play well together now.
We also have 3 kids, and she does well with them, unless they get in the way while the dogs are playing and become collateral damage.
She does well with “sit,” “stay,” “lay down,” and “come.
” We have taken her on walks and she doesn’t appear to have leash training as she does like to pull.
She is completely potty trained when she knows where she is supposed to go to the bathroom.
She only had one accident and that was the first night we took her in.
We are unaware if she is crate trained.
She is able to roam around the house 24/7 and hasn’t chewed anything.
She is very well behaved considering where she came from.
The vet said it looks like she may have had puppies at some point but we couldn’t get any straight information from the previous owner.
We would recommend that she go to a home without any pets and where at least one person is home at any given time.
She does well with our dog but we have fostered many pets and know how to deescalate aggression.
She does not get along with our cat.
She isn’t aggressive.
It seems like she may want to play but our cat hisses, spits, growls, and slaps at her.
These breeds have a lot of energy but are also very smart.
Malinois mixed with German shepherd makes them more calm, but they still have a high energy level.
It is preferred that you do research on the breed or have owned one previously.
She will make a very good companion for someone.
We would like to do a home visit prior to rehoming her to make sure it will be a good fit for her.
She will need a fully fenced yard.
We are asking a small rehoming fee to cover the vet bill, a bed, some toys, a harness, and a leash.
She will come with all of that.
