We have a 1.
5year old captive bred female Nothern Blue Tongue Skink “Red Line” we’re considering rehoming since our teen has lost interest in her.
She can be a little huffy in her enclosure, but she handles just fine without protests.
She eats a varied diet of meat and veggies every 5-7 days, her favorite is ground beef mixed with lots of squash and some fresh dandelion greens (she doesn’t like the flowers) and calcium powder.
She isn’t a big fan of bugs, and I have very rarely offered her canned food, but when I have it was Against the Grain 100% meat formulas (and I add veggies/calcium).
She would include everything she needs to settle into a new family, including her enclosure with coconut husk hide, water dish, other “decor”, UV light, heat dome, thermostat and calcium powder, etc.
There is a rehoming fee of $450, which is what she cost when we originally purchased her before enclosure/etc.
Blue Tongue Skink’s are probably one of the best beginner lizards (except the high prices), and our teenager was so stoked for her, but ultimately she has been my responsibility and he has completely lost interest.
And as much as I love her, I’m a snake person, and I know she can have a more suitable keeper.
