As a Fiber Optic Lineman Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding our fiber optic transmission lines throughout the state of Oregon.
Responsibilities:
* Utilize bucket trucks, 28-foot ladders, and other necessary equipment to perform tasks on fiber optic transmission lines.
* Safely move cables from one pole to another, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and rectifying any safety violations.
* Conduct inspections and maintenance activities on fiber optic infrastructure, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
* Collaborate with the team to plan and execute fiber optic network expansions and upgrades.
* Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards to minimize risks and ensure a secure work environment.
* Complete all required documentation, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment maintenance logs.
* Attend training sessions to enhance technical skills and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in fiber optic technology.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Previous experience in fiber optic installation, maintenance, or related field is preferred.
* Familiarity with bucket trucks, 28-foot ladders, and other relevant equipment.
* Basic knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
* Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Willingness to travel throughout the state of Oregon as required.
