General Summary and Purpose: The Senior Payroll Specialist is a core team member of the Accounting Department.
The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the payroll department.
Duties and Responsibilities: Processing bi-weekly payroll which includes monitoring the time tracking system, maintaining and entering all payroll data for each processing, auditing, and resolving issues.
Payroll Administration for several business entities and with 200+ team members.
Maintain database of personnel information and accurate payroll records.
Conduct regularly scheduled audits of payroll records to ensure continued accuracy.
Prepare paychecks/direct deposits to ensure that employees are paid on time and in the correct amount.
Cooperate with different departments to increase payroll service performance.
Maintain Child Support and Garnishment.
Familiarity with General Ledgers processes for Payroll entry into the accounting system.
Processing third party funding and record keeping Data conversion for possible HRIS system change.
Collect, verify, and record employee attendance, including hours worked.
Compute wages, commissions, and deductions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including remittance of payroll taxes.
Handle employee complaints about incorrect payments and resolve discrepancies.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll Act as a resource for payroll special projects Maintains confidentiality of team member and company data Other Duties : Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

Reporting Relationships: This position reports to: Payroll Manager Job Requirements: Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, Report writing, Adobe.
Experience in handling complex payroll issues and exceptions.
Organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple goals.
Ability to work well as an individual and as part of a high performing team.
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles related to Payroll.
Experience with multi-state payroll processing and taxation.
Ability to collaborate with managers to ensure that timekeeping records are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
Experience working for a public company or heavily regulated industry.
Job Specifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or associate degree with equivalent experience preferred 5+ years of payroll processing and timekeeping experience Knowledge of payroll industry software tools, ADP, Net Suites, UKG, Ceridian preferred.
Familiarity with payroll Time Keeping Systems.
Kronos, APD, UKG, Ceridian preferred.
Experience with Sarbane-Oxley standards.
Payroll Certification APA encouraged.

The US base salary range for this position at full-time is $73,542- $110,313 per year.
Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, location, and market competitive benchmarks.
Individual pay within a level is determined by work location (including geographic pay zone region), job related skills, experience, education, and training.
