POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for generating top line revenue and a positive REVPAR Index change on the STR report and strive for top market share results.
In certain hotels, this position may be responsible for catering sales results.
The Director of Sales directs the Hotel’s Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Catering objectives and convention services where appropriate.
Knowledge of traditional and electronic marketing, sales systems and standard sales operating procedures, catering sales, and revenue management practices.
Understanding of various segments that pertain to the market.
Ability to analyze marketplace and develop strategies to impact new business development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties: 1.
Anticipates guest requests and responds to complaints within hotel policy and service recovery procedures 2.
Maximizes room revenue and occupancy by developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue generation 3.
Adjusts strategy based on competitive market and market segment knowledge 4.
Responsible to continuously improve Smith Travel REVPAR Index and achieves top market share results.

Focus on new market conditions and impact on REVPAR Index growth.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Directs the activities of the sales team, providing leadership and motivation necessary to maximize hotel room and catering revenues * Responds to all inquiries within 24 hours * Responsible for implementation of appropriate marketing strategies * Be a liaison to other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients * Nurtures local relationships with community leaders * Carries an account base and direct sales * Develops annual Strategic Business Plans and Revenue Budgets Vesta Hospitality, LLC – Effective January 2017 1 * Achieves or exceed individual and team sales goals and hotel budgets * Manages lead sources to ensure quantity and quality of leads * Seeks new clients through strategic outbound sales efforts for group, extended stay group and transient room revenue * Conducts sales calls to key accounts or major prospects * Monitors sales activities/performance to ensure revenue goals meet or exceed established plan and accurately reporting variance/projections to management * Weighs the value of each piece of business against hotel objectives * Uses corporate and franchise Revenue Management resources to help make informed decisions and maximize revenue * Develops and maintain positive relationships with peers, competitors and brand partners * Trains and empower sales team members to exercise good judgment to make profitable business decisions * Ensures hotel sales team is effectively using the sales tools available * Effectively promotes and position the brand and the hotel at its desirous level * Knows market trends and behavior including political, economic and social issues * Maintains professionalism with regard to written correspondence (traditional and electronic) and telephone etiquette.
* Conducts site inspections as appropriate with Marketing Partners.
* Knowledgeable of local area including special attractions, competing hotel facilities, restaurants, food and beverage facilities including catering menus, pricing, set-ups, food costs, equipment, etc.
* Knowledgeable of hotel facilities including guest room and function room size and occupancy limits, sound and light systems, air conditioning, media facilities, power, etc.
* Completes quarterly action plans to include media (electronic and traditional) plan * Understands hotel pricing and rate improvement strategies.
* Community Relations * Maintains active involvement in community and industry organizations.
* Maintains communication with competitive hotels, Convention and Visitor Bureau and Chamber of Commerce.
* Participates in community activities, employee activities and guest events.
