Tapered Design Specialist
Position Summary
The Tapered Design Specialist creates tapered insulation designs, generically and as detailed by shop drawings, and provides quotes.
This role also covers Commercial Sales and requires interaction with commercial contractors, and answering pricing questions on all related commercial roofing materials.
The successful candidate will be an on-site support as well as servicing all professionals in the roofing industry.
We’re looking for self-sufficient, motivated Individual for our Lynnwood location at 5804-204th Street SW who want to help us expand our fast-growing business.
Responsibilities
Visit plan room as needed to download information and create files.
Consistently interact with Roofers, Consultants, Architects and Co-workers for plan design, pricing, and technical questions
Continuous upgrading and learning of new roofing principles, codes, etc.
as they pertain to your work.
Attain clarifications on project requirements as needed.
Process orders with our inside sales team and other branches as necessary.
Prepare cost estimates by analyzing proposals, specifications, drawings and related documents
Present prepared quotations by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
Maintain excellent relationships with sales staff and customers
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Perform all general duties as they relate to your work and as requested by your manager.
Requirements
2 year degree plus 3 years architectural design or commercial roofing experience or building supply experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong problem-solving skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking.
Ability to read and interpret blueprint specifications (architectural)
Excellent computer skills
Ability to access roofs via ladder and other safe methods - have no fear of heights (site roof top measuring is required)
Strong organization, prioritization, and planning skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb ladders or staging to access roof tops
